eRozgaar Punjab Free Freelancing Training: Eligibility, Entry Test, and Courses

For an unemployed graduate in Punjab who wants to earn through freelancing but has never won a client, eRozgaar is the programme built for exactly that gap. It is the Punjab government’s free freelancing training programme, run by PITB (Punjab Information Technology Board) with the Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Department. If you are an unemployed Punjab-domicile graduate aged 35 or under with 16 years of education, you can apply online, pass an entry test, and receive mentored training in digital and freelancing skills at a centre or online. Training is free.

What eRozgaar is — and how it differs from DigiSkills

eRozgaar is Punjab’s classroom-and-mentor answer to freelancing training. Where DigiSkills is online and self-paced for the whole country, eRozgaar trains graduates in cohorts through training centres across Punjab (plus online training in its newer phases), with trainers, classmates, and a structured timetable.

That structure is the whole point: many graduates know a skill but have never won a client. eRozgaar’s curriculum is built around platforms — profiles, proposals, client communication, and actually completing work — not just the technical skill itself.

Who can apply: eligibility

PITB’s own admissions announcement states the eligibility plainly. You must:

  • Hold Punjab domicile (with a valid CNIC)
  • Have 16 years of education (BS, MA, MSc, or equivalent)
  • Be aged 35 or under
  • Be currently unemployed

Basic computer skills are also expected — you will be learning digital work, so comfort with a computer and the internet is assumed. If you do not meet the domicile or education criteria, eRozgaar is not your route: the national alternatives are NAVTTC free skills training (classroom trades, open across Pakistan) and DigiSkills free online courses (online, no domicile or degree requirement).

The 7 training fields

According to PITB’s admissions announcement, the current phase offers training in seven fields:

  1. Mobile App Development
  2. Technical (web development and related technical tracks)
  3. Content Marketing & Advertising
  4. Creative Designing
  5. UI/UX Design
  6. Social Media Marketing
  7. e-Commerce

Freelancing skills — profiles, bidding, and client handling — are taught alongside these tracks, because the goal is earning, not just learning. Older programme descriptions also grouped training into Technical, Non-Technical, and Creative Design tracks; the seven fields above are the current phase’s structure per PITB.

How admission works: the entry test and selection

Admission is merit-based, and the journey is:

  1. Apply online through the official eRozgaar website (erozgaar.pitb.gov.pk) during an admissions window.
  2. Take the online entry test — applicants are tested before selection. (The exact test format and syllabus are set for each phase, so confirm the current format on the official portal when you apply rather than trusting old test papers circulating online.)
  3. Shortlisting — successful candidates are shortlisted and asked to upload their documents online.
  4. Document verification — shortlisted candidates verify their documents as instructed by the programme.
  5. Training begins — selected trainees join their assigned centre or online batch.

Training is commonly described as lasting around three months. Treat that as the usual structure, not a promise for your phase: confirm the duration, timings, and centre (or online) mode in your admission offer.

Attendance, assessment, and certification

eRozgaar training is taught, not just watched: attendance and coursework matter, and trainees complete the programme with a certificate. The exact attendance and assessment rules are set by the programme for each phase and centre, so ask for them at admission and keep to them — a certificate earned after patchy attendance carries little weight with clients or employers.

What the certificate genuinely gives you is a completed, mentored training record plus — more importantly — a freelancing profile and, ideally, your first completed projects. That combination is what earns on freelance platforms.

How to use eRozgaar well: the pairing rule

Training alone rarely produces income. The trainees who earn fastest do three things during the programme:

  • Build a portfolio as you learn — every assignment becomes a sample you can show a client.
  • Set up platform profiles early — with trainer help, not after graduation.
  • Start bidding before the course ends — small, well-chosen first jobs teach more than another month of tutorials.

And if you are weighing funding a business instead of freelancing, read our guide to the PM Youth Business and Agriculture Loan — a loan and a freelancing income are very different paths, and the right one depends on your situation.

Admissions status — read this carefully

PITB’s announcement page still states that applications are being received for the next phase of online and on-campus training (re-checked 26 October 2026). The official eRozgaar portal itself, however, could not be opened during verification — it returned a firewall block — so confirm the live application form on the official eRozgaar portal before applying, rather than assuming the window is open from the announcement alone. And never pay anyone for admission, a test pass, or a seat: eRozgaar training is free.
